70 and sunny

We kept trying to take better pictures, but since the whole day was spent enjoying the weather and just having fun, I think this sums it up pretty well.

Off and running

Ellwood and Lanza officially started the Emory distance portion of the indoor season with a mile at UNC.  Solid start to the season.

Late Christmas

Coach Curtin gave me a little present to get ready for the indoor season -- which was great since all my stopwatches disappeared during the fall.

Doctor's orders

Take two of these and call me in the morning.

Joy of Cooking

Getting up at 5:15 for a workout is never fun.  But it did give me time before work to make a real breakfast.  Dobrasz gave me "The Joy of Cooking" and thanks to its guidance I was able to successfully fry an egg (actually four) for the first time in my life.

This is my runners hitting their paces despite the miserable weather.  Good job, boys.

Playing PT

I got to be the practice dummy for Jess's arm wrapping refresher course.

Brunch

After a week of Jess meeting my friends/family, it was time to go to brunch with some of hers.  I wasn't really ready to whip the camera out at the table, so this is post-brunch.

Foreman on Roids

Mom and Dad got me a panini-press/grill/griddle for Christmas -- perfect for high-class sandwiches like this prosciutto, mozzarella, and basil number.

Alligator

Getting heavy rotation in the music-listening room right now.

Finished product

A very relieved work crew shows off their handy-work.  Unfortunately I think they've retired from the flooring business after this week.

Also ... the nook now has a new centerpiece thanks to Bruce Springsteen and some very cool people from NJ.

Next up was replacing the cat-saturated carpet in the nook.  I honestly didn't realize how much odor it was contributing until it was gone.

Kitchen tile

Step one in the remodeling project was to replace the blue-ish painted linoleum in the kitchen.  I'll be generous and just say that the people who lived here before me had a unique sense of style.  I forgot to take a picture of the in-process floor, so this is the finished product.

2 Steps forward ...

Well, that clean and classy look didn't last too long ... lots of supplies from Home Depot for the upcoming floor replacement.

OTP Ru San's

Slightly lighter food than the rest of the weekend (but still just as much), and one last meal with the whole gang.

Beer Tour

Ryan took over brewery tour duties at Sweetwater since we couldn't hear anything that was being said on the actual tour ...

And we headed to Leon's for beer, bacon, and fries.  These guys need to visit more often. 

Taboo

Melissa is an extraordinary Taboo player, and our team got rocked pretty hard.  Fortunately there was enough beer around that we didn't notice. 

Classy time

Since company is coming tomorrow, it was about time to get the old love seat out, set-up the new music listening room and make proper use of the second bedroom.  Very clean and classy.

Stuck on the inside

Still too much snow and ice to run outside, but fortunately the gym was still closed too so we could take over the entire fourth floor for the workout.

Plan B

With the track covered and Emory closed, the logical thing to do seemed to be to run our workout in the parking deck.  Only 3-4 kids wiped out on the ice, and no one got hit by a car so I'll call it a success.

Buried

It was an actual snowstorm here in Atlanta -- and I'm happy to say that snow days are just as exciting as an adult as they are when you're a kid.

Beating the storm

Being off the roads and having blankets, hot chocolate, and candles sure makes the snowstorm more enjoyable.

Sales Pitch

It was finally time to clean out Jared's room.  Oddly enough, this strategy didn't work (who knew Goodwill didn't take mattresses?).  But I did manage to get them in the dump at my complex before it was completely full and locked down.

Twisted Taco

Bud was coming through town on his way to App St., and we got to check out the mood lighting at Twisted Taco.

Somebody did their homework over break. 

Pump You Up

The boys came back today and we got right to work -- not only are we going to be faster this spring, we're going to look better doing it.

The OC

I'm secure enough to admit that I am loving the O.C.  Even if people keep trying to ruin the ending. 

Work Time

First day back in the office, time to start another year with the Boss.
