Easter Gardens

In between eating way too much food, we went to the Botanical Gardens with Mom and Dad to enjoy the great weather on Easter.

Alumni Mile

At the end of the UAA Championships, we had the alumni mile which was a pretty absurd (and awesome) affair.  Also, congrats to the women's team which brought home the team title once again!

All-Time XC Team

Tommy, Paul, and Charlie were named to the Emory All-Time XC team.  Also pictured here is #1 Emory XC fan Dave "Laubster" and Tony Lewis were also members of the all-time team.  Alex and Decker made the All-Time Track team, making the class of 2010 pretty well represented.

Only two songs, but well worth the money and the time spent standing in line on Saturday.  Sounds great, as always.

Dress Like A Coach Day

As part of UAA week, the kids had "Dress Like a Coach" day which featured a couple of very good Coach Curtin costumes.

Yep, it's official that no matter how ahead I think I am, I will mail my taxes the last day.  I guess since I always owe money that's fine.  And this year the post office wasn't even crowded!

Record Store Mob

I was lined-up outside the door with 30 other people when Decatur CD opened.  Some of us were there to push people out of the way and grab a bunch of limited-edition vinyl.  Others were just there to pick up the Springsteen release.

A:  My wallet -- making for an interesting trip to the meet today.

Big Brothers

Had my volunteer interview with Big Brothers Atlanta.  Here's a tip for anyone else who might someday do the same thing:  You probably shouldn't pantomime slamming a door without any explanation of what you're doing -- I suspect it looked an awful lot like smacking someone across the face.  Live and learn.

Cooking by feel

So this is baked gnocchi with meatballs and mozzarella.  If we're being honest here, it probably looks a little better than it tasted.

End of a domain

Cancelled the fivethousandmeters.com website.  It'll soon be up on the Negative Split Pictures website, but still kinda sad -- although not sad enough to keep paying $13/month for it.

It's April 10th and I've begun my taxes.  So, feeling pretty good about that.

If you're going to drive through the night to get back from a track meet, it's important to have the right group of people traveling with you.  This was at the end of the trip -- which might explain why they look so happy.

Big storm last night left tons of trees down by Emory -- lots of side streets were completely blocked like this one all day long.

Passionate Fan

Jess thoroughly enjoyed sleeping through the NCAA title game.  Even without her support, UConn won so she came in first in her office pool!

Killer Line-up

Can an album that sold 30 million copies be underrated?  Yes.

Since you can't really read it, that side 2 line-up is: No Surrender, Bobby Jean, I'm Going Down, Glory Days, Dancing in the Dark, and My Hometown.

Paul out and about

Paul was back in town, so we decided to eat a couple pounds of fries (among other things) at Leon's.  Also, yea! for Alex smiling for a picture -- he's been practicing.

Not a joke

So after waiting for 3+ months to find out whether they got into Emory or not, prospective students were greeted with this message when they got on-line to find out their decision.  Probably not helping our cause with these kids.
