The men's team post-race.  We definitely gained some big-meet experience, two weeks till Regionals.

On Writing

If you haven't read it (or just haven't in awhile), I highly recommend it.  Very inspiring, and makes me wish I made time to write.

Wisteria

After a hard day of furniture shopping (actually, sort of mid-shopping), we hit Wisteria for dinner.  

This was as awesome as it looks -- especially the braised greens mac and cheese which my mom is stealing in this picture.  Some things never change.

Great venue, great singer, and now every member of my family has seen Ellis Paul at Eddie's Attic -- oddly enough.

Same old

Here is a perfectly ordinary picture of how my bathroom always looks, nothing exceptional because my parents are coming into town.  Nothing at all.

Trader Joe's to the rescue

It'd be really nice if CO would get Trader Joe's -- if I ever move back, it would be a tough lifestyle change.

Orange Sunday

Big day:  1) Mayor Hickenlooper declared it "Orange Sunday" in Denver;  2) the season finale of "Mad Men."  Decided to have my orange w/ a touch of class to commemorate both events.

(Note:  Even though they lost, I was really proud of how the Broncos played, AND really proud of the fans -- there were a LOT of TV shots that were bouncing around everywhere because the stadium was so loud.)

Long run

It's been years since I've done a long run long enough to need these things.  I prepped for this run for so long, I felt like I was going to war.

DBA

Atlanta has to lead the nation in great new sandwiches.  Here is the Archie Bunker -- pulled pork on Texas toast w/ mac and cheese piled right in there.

Like the smell of Proust's madeleine's, one sight of this big guy driving around in the dirt and I was right back in my childhood!

IHOP

Since it was fall break we went to IHOP after the workout for unlimited pancakes (some people in this picture are more excited about that than others).  And the boys managed to keep it under $20 a person, which can't be said for every trip we've made to IHOP w/ the team.

Noir

The fact that I keep falling asleep while reading it before bed in no way indicates how much I'm enjoying this book.  Because it's awesome.  Based on a very limited sample of this and "Grapes of Wrath," apparently the 1930's produced my kind of writing.

Sunday football

Charlie was taking his own fall break, and Spe made it out to watch his first-place Rams.  Strangely Alex is the only one not smiling, and his team was the only one that won!

Prep time

Two weeks till the parents come into town.  It was time to party, Jared-style!
